Milan Vanguard delves into the fusion of tradition and cutting-edge design that defines Salone del Mobile. This year's event emphasized both aesthetic appeal and technical functionality, with immersive installations and a diverse range of styles, from maximalist to minimalist. The report covers key themes such as "Inflation Effects" and palettes like "Ruby & Quartz," highlighting how designers are blending innovative materials and bold colors to create captivating interiors.

The Spirit of Fuorisalone

Fuorisalone, scattered throughout Milan, brought the city to life with vibrant presentations that engaged all the senses. This year's theme, "Materia Natura," emphasized sustainable design and material innovation, showcasing the creative reuse of materials and exploring natural—and sometimes vegan— alternatives. Fuorisalone highlights included the colorful Verner Panton lounge at 10 Corso Como and Hermes' otherworldly exhibition, entitled “The Topography of Material”, used sixteen different traditional flooring patterns to create a huge floor maze.

SaloneSatellite, the incubator for emerging designers under 35, celebrated its 25th anniversary with 600 exhibitors from 32 countries.
